My mother in law has started to scrapbook again so instead of making her something this time around I bought her some craft supplies but I did make her a card.
My mom is one that is really hard to shop for so I decided to make a split letter with her and my dad's name and put it on burlap. I had never done the split letter thing on Design Space but I followed Melody Lane's YouTube video on how to do it and it was simple! Melody Lane has great videos, so those that watch YouTube a lot check hers out! My husband helped me pick out the Font and told me to place the heart in the middle of their names plus he helped me pick out the flowers.
He was happy because I didn't have to go out and buy new supplies to make this, I used what I had. I had never used Heat Transfer Vinyl on burlap before so I wasn't even sure if I could. Tried it and it worked! I used my hot glue gun to place the flowers and buttons on the canvas. I would have used a stapler to put the burlap on the canvas but I don't have one yet that would work for that so I used my hot glue gun for that too. Looks good so that is all that matters! I purchased the canvas at Walmart and it came with 2. So now I have an extra one for something else.
Then I decided to make my mom a picture frame too. I recently bought some vinyl at Micheal's, one of the sample sets with multiple colors from Cricut. So I used black for the lettering and green for a few of the other words to stand out. Green is one of her favorite colors. I set up my wording in Design Space and placed the vinyl on my mat sent it through and when I went to "weed" it the letters would come up with it. So I asked on the Cricut Design Space Facebook

Hope you enjoyed these and it inspired you to use your vinyl in different ways. Have a splendid crafty time!
