Scrapbooks as Gifts are the Best!

Hello Scrappers and Friends! I have been working on this album for months now
and never thought I would get it done in time for our Christmas in July. It was so much fun and I got everyone together to put a little special something in the back for Grandma and Grandpa to have.

What I had everyone do is write down, in their own handwriting, their favorite memory of grandma and grandpa and I took copies of them and placed them in the album in the back. I put all the originals in a pocket in the back in case they wanted those later on. The reason I took copies were so they wouldn't fade and get ruined. I'm so glad everyone was good about it and did it! Grandma and Grandpa loved it and that's all that counts! Plus they can take this album to Florida when they are down there and show all their friends how awesome their family is!

I also got my other grandma a blanket with a picture of when her and my grandpa first got married and the other picture is from their 50th Anniversary. My grandpa passed away awhile back so this was something special. She loved it too!

I wanted to do something special for both sides of my grandparents and I'm glad I got to do that. They mean the world to me and I love them so much! Hope you all enjoyed this and it gives some of you an idea of what to do for your loved ones. Homemade gifts can be the best gifts!

Some of my relatives I never really see so I got some of the memories today, which was the day of the get together so I had my own little scrapbook station in our car ready for me to finish it up! My zebra rolling tote for my Crops came in handy today!

This is one of the reasons why we take pictures and scrapbook! They make us look back on the good times and smile! This hobby is one of the best things in my life and I love doing it! Thanks for viewing and I hope you all have a splendid crafty time!

Weekend Creations!

Hello Scrappers and Friends! Hope you all are having a wonderful 4th of July weekend! Lots of fireworks going on around us. Today I have been in my craft room trying to get caught up on some old pictures. I have so many that I haven't even printed...I'm so behind!

Here are the new tags I did today. These are so fun and simple to make!

Here are the layouts I did. These are from last years get together. I used Washi Tape all around this page.

I love this background paper! I didn't want to cover it up with pictures but I think it went perfectly!

I used some Project Life cards in this layout. On the bottom left corner for those that don't know what Project Life cards are.

Here are a few more...

Hope you all enjoyed my creations! It was a fun day today in my craft room! Got a lot done. Hope you have a splendid crafty time!

Distress Ink Labels and Blending Tool Storage

Hello Scrappers and Friends! Sorry about all the posts today, trying to catch up on everything that has been going on lately. I've been slacking and busy in my craft room this past week since we are off this week from work.

So I finally downloaded the Tim Holtz distress ink labels and printed them out on my printer. I then cut out the ones I had and sent them through my little sticker maker and placed them on the sides of the inks so I can see which one is which without pulling them all out. Easy to do and its free!

I have been experimenting with my blending tool and I've seen where you should have a pad for each color and not mix. So I had these little plastic containers that I found at a garage sale so that each color will have their own place. Plus my round blending tools fit nicely in the container as well.

I love storage! I have more storage than supplies, no joke! But that's okay because it just means I need to buy more supplies. Hope you have a splendid crafty time!

Clear Stamp Storage

Hello Scrappers and Friends! I always look for new ways to store my supplies. I love clear stamps and I had been using some Stampin' Up DVD cases but those are expensive.

So I heard about these clear sleeves from Avery Elle and just had to purchase some! I ordered 2 sets of 25 sleeves on Amazon and they were only $7 each and free 2 day shipping. Once I got them I cut some card stock to fit in the back and then used some clear sheets to stick the stamps on and walah wonderful storage! I used my label maker to label each one so I could just flip through them and know what each package had. I also got OCD on it and placed them in alphabetical order. I chose the purple because it matches my room and looks pretty.

I went on YouTube and viewed Jennifer McGuire's clear stamp storage and that's where I found these. The card stock inserts I cut to 5 3/8" x 7 1/4" and the purple card stock fit nicely in each pocket!

Hope this helps anyone struggling with storing their clear stamps! I love these pockets and eventually I'll be getting a Fridge Binz to place them in just like Jennifer in the video. Have a splendid crafty time!

My First Purge

Hello Scrappers and Friends! One thing crafters need to do every once in awhile is purge their rooms of items that they don't use as often. Well I decided to go through my room and anything that I didn't think I would use I placed in a box.

I went through my stickers, paper, scrapbook kits, etc. My mother in law also scrapbooks and said she would take whatever I didn't want, so next time she visits I'll have a whole box for her of goodies! My sticker collection had got out of hand and I don't use a lot of stickers anymore so I decided to go through those. Now I have all this extra storage that's empty. My husband said the only reason why I purged was so I could go shopping to stock back up. Hmm..I like the idea of that but I really needed to go through everything.

So Crafters purge purge purge! Have a splendid crafty time!!

My First Tags

Hello Scrappers and Friends! I love trying new things. My friend Suzy on Facebook is always messaging me with new things to try, she's pretty amazing! One thing I have seen ladies showing on YouTube is tags. They are gorgeous! I figured I would give it try. I'm thinking I can use them for embellishments on scrapbook pages or even tags for gifts.

Here is my first tag. I used my Tim Holtz distress inks and blending tool to do the back grounds on both of these tags. I then used some stamp sets I had to do the "wonderful fabulous you", the checked pattern and the silver faded image. These stamps are from Close To My Heart. I love their stamps! The butterfly is a punch I have and I just inked the edges with ink then I used one of my spray inks to do the purple color. The rope is something I had on hand as well. The silver stamp that is faded in the background is actually embossed using some silver embossing powder and my heat tool. You can do so many different tags using whatever you have its unlimited! I cut the tags out on my Cricut using Design Space.

Here is another tag I did using the same items, just different stamps and colors.I also used my Crop a Dile to hold the twine and ribbon to hang the tags. These again are the Close To My Heart stamps as well.

Can't wait to do more! Hope this gets you inspired to break out your distress inks and play! Thanks for looking and remember to have a splendid crafty time!

Friends Are Amazing!!

Hello Scrappers and Friends! I have got to say my family and friends are amazing! They know how much I love this hobby and help me accumulate items to add to my collection of supplies.

One of my close friends came to visit and she had a friend that was getting rid of her scrapbook supplies so she brought me the whole box of supplies, for FREE! I was like a kid at Christmas! Stickers, brads, eyelets, a fuse like tool, paper etc....it was like it never ended!

Loved it all!  So Crafters make sure your friends and family know what your hobby is because they also help keep an eye out for items that you might want! I have had so many friends and family tag me on items on garage sale sites that they thought I could use. Enablers! But I love them!

Hope you enjoyed seeing all my goodies. Have a splendid crafty time!
